Liverpool was a boom town in the 1850s with shipping and new construction. Families constantly moving home.
One of my Manx ancestors, a joiner from Rushen, arrived in Liverpool in 1841, aged 21 and, when he died, 60 odd years later he owned a dozen houses in Liverpool.
