The 1841 census does not give any family details so one cannot be absolutely sure, but there appear to be 3 entries for Edward son of John:
aged 10, at Shenvalley, Rushen
aged 1, Douglas
aged 7 months, Bradda, Rushen.
Assuming if he emigrated at age 9 he did so with his family, do you have any other names such as siblings?
