Ancestry.co.uk have hosted the FreeBMD website for a while, but this is incomplete and holds very little info more recent than 1900. They have just added free access to the whole Civil Registration index from 1837 to 1983 - you used to have to pay to view this, and still have to pay to view the index on other sites such as 1837.com.
