My fellow researcher has been to the Isle of man, and she has seen the parish register for John Steele and Christian Kinley's marriage. His parents are not mentioned here.
I have Margaret Steele's (nee: Corlett) death certificate, which gives her father as Simon.
I finally made enquiries at the library about research centres in the area - I was given a list of contacts. It takes time to settle into a new area (40 km is a long way when you count up petrol costs on a budget). I am getting very frustrated with the limitations of the net.
I'll soon have access to the facilities to purchase the records I've been listing so I can move on with my research.
