Josiah Tyler, Douglas 1887-1894

I have had an interesting query which I will share in hope that someone can help

While raising floorboards on this building site in London we uncovered a pair of ancient boots. The tab on the boots bears the makers name of Josiah Tyler. A web search found a Josiah Tyler Boot maker in Douglas IOM in 1892. as I could find no further information on the web I was wondering if you had any in your extensive library. I would particularly like to know what period he was trading. The occupants of the building are thinking of preserving the boots and placing them on display when our project here is complete so some background to the maker would be useful, as there is probably no hope of finding out who went home bare foot.

Anyone with access to 1891 please - he does not appear to be in 1881 and the name is obviously not Manx. The directories give him as running two shops one in Victoria St the other it would appear on corner of Strand St and Regent St - it may well be the same shoe repair shop as exists today that had entrances on both streets.
