Re: searching for Corkish/keig historyy

Thomas Kegg was christened in Rushen on June 1858, only mothers name is given (Catherine Kegg).
In the 1861 census in Cragneash Rushen:
William Kegg 65 Head widower farmer 6 acres
Thomas Geale 1 grandson
Catherine Kegg 30 daughter unmarried
William Kegg 22 son fisherman unmarried.
There are two William Keggs in the burials index in 1866 in Rushen aged 71 & 72.
There is also a willl in 1867, probably from one of these two, on film number 0106269.

The Henry Corkish family is in Cragneash in the 1871 census.
Henry 53 labourer
Catherine 41
Thomas 12
William H 4
Jacob 2
Catherine 1 m.
Henry gives his age as 55 in 1881 and his birthplace as Rushen.
The closest I can find in 1861 is Henry 44 in Surby Rushen lead ore miner livining with his sister Catherine 38 and her two sons:
Thomas Quirk 17 fisherman and William Kennaugh 5.
The burial record in February 1883 gives his age as 64, which corresponds to a birth in 1818/19.
I cannot find Henry's birth in the IGI.
However there is a Catherine christened January 12, 1823 daughter of Christopher Corkish & Catherine.
Sometimes illegitimate children were christened under their mother's name and then switched to the father's name.
