Re: 1841 (& 1851) Liverpool Census

Frances,
You are quite right (as usual).
In my hurry, I had not realized that you had made it easy and provided the folio and file numbers.

235 2179/1
1 Waterloo Place, St Bartholomews District, HO 107/2179
Josiah Redfern Head Married 34 Gen. Lab. b. Wales, Flintshire
Jane 34 b. Wales, Anglesea
Sarah 14 At home b. Lancashire, Liverpool.
Ellen 3 Liverpool
Thomas, 2 Liverpool
John 3 mo Liverpool

John Redfern Head 29 House owner, Isle of Man, Douglas
Sarah, wife 30, Lancashire, Liverpool
Sarah Ann, 7, IOM Douglas
Elizabeth Jane, 1, IOM Douglas

I do not have 2179/3 on my 1851 census. Are you sure this is correct?

623 & 623A 2186/4
2 Upper Luke Street, St Thomas, Liverpool
John Redfern Head 48 Painter & Glazier Lancashire, Liverpool
Alice, Wife, 36 Lancs, Hallsall
Catherine, dau. 13 Liverpool
Richard, s, 5 Liverpool
John, s, 1, Liverpool.

I checked Pitt St & Upper Pitt St in 1841 (I did not find Lower Pitt St.) and came up empty
The closest I came is a John, 45, and James, 50, Redpath, both master mariners on Upper Pitt St.
