There was a recent query on Gawne of Laurel Bank.
I have just found a connection. A Thomas Bridson (1823-1906) of a Malew/Castletown family emigrated to Australia. His wife was Catherine Gawne of Laurel Bank. Their only child Elizabeth Bridson was b. Australia, d. The Crofts, Castletown 1862 aged 13.
Thomas d. 1906 Thomas was a grandson of "Cubbon The Difty" of Malew St., Castletown, and his aunt Jane Cubbon was my ancestor. She m. Thomas Clague, shoemaker of Malew Street.
