George Cannon is listed as a Manx Guinea Captain sailing out of Liverpool. It also mentions that he attended the Mathematical School at Peel, founded by the Reverend James Moore of Dublin. The school apparently had a heavy bias towards navigation and numerous Manx Captains had attended. There is no mention of the Iris in the Index.
