Thanks Frances I did look at the newspapers but only found 1 John Kewley charged with grand larceny but it was in 1862 and jury reckoned it was petit larceny !
I'm struggling to understand why all my Kewleys disappeared without trace ! Can't even get in to familysearch at the moment to check Philip and Cathy's youngest child which I thought was John bapt 1803 ish Onchan so can't trace him anywhere either
