Re: Kilpack or Kissack?
In Response To: Re: Kilpack or Kissack? ()

Hi Narelle

As he appears to be born around 1852 from his age on the ships, most likely is George baptised St Barnabas Church, Braddan 18/1/1852 to John and Margaret Kneen , no maiden name shown for Margaret. Could not find a marriage for them.
When George and Mira married 6/10/1868 in Braddan , they both give their address as Big Well Street, Douglas, he is shown as a minor , Mira is full age.
On the 1861 census at Bigwell Street , is George Kneen aged 11 , he is the Grandson of the Head , Margaret Brian aged 53. also there are William Kneen 50 and William Kneen 21 as Lodgers, also Catherine Caley 21 , MB's daughter.
Trying to work how George is Margaret Brian's Grandson.
There is a marriage in Braddan 2/2/1834 of Hugh Brian to Margaret Kneen.
On the 1841 census Hugh and Margaret have two children with them , William 9 and Catherine 2 , who seems to be the Catherine Caley in 1861.
Margaret Brian was buried on the IOM 29/12/1868 aged 65, could not find Hugh, and he was not with her in 1861. Could not find the Brians anywhere in the UK in 1851.
Someone reading might be able to find the Brian connection to George Kneen

Cheers
David
