Re: William Callister/James Edward Callister

These Callisters seem to have had a casual attitude to the use of their christian names. Isn’t it odd that James Edward Callister’s 1911 census entry is clearly written (in a shaky hand) as John Callister both on the entry itself and on the signature at the bottom of the page. It’s definitely the right household. He’s described as a widower, paviour’s labourer b Laxey IOM. Perhaps someone else filled it in on his behalf.
