Re: Robert William Langlands

Hi Michele

From a posting in 2008, it indicates two burial plots in the Bride Old Grave Yard, although the wording is confusing.

plot 348

In memory of THOMAS , son of THOMAS AND CATHERINE ELIZA LACE of Grenaby, who died Jan 6, 1859, aged 5 y and 10 m , also of ROBERT CHARLES, brother to the above , who died Dec 12, 1861 , aged 8 m , also of ESTA FANNIE , sister to the above , who died Nov 13, 1877 , aged 2 y and 2 m , also of CATHERINE LANGLANDS , eldest daughter of the above THOMAS AND CATHERINE E LACE , who died Apr 22, 1945 aged 94 years.

Plot 349

In memory of MARGARET , wife of THOMAS LACE of Kerrow-Dhoo , who died Oct 3, 1863 aged 69 years. Also of THOMAS LACE, of Kerrow-Dhoo , who died Jan 24, 1867 aged 69 Years. Also THOMAS LACE of Grenaby , son of the above , who died Sep 20, 1882, aged 55 years, also of CATHERINE ELIZA , wife of THOMAS LACE , born Oct 21, 1831 , died July 22, 1915.

I also had a look on Scotlandspeople , but only looked for Catherine Lace, as it would be rare in Scotland , and found nothing. Nothing on UK BMD or IOM marriages, so maybe they did not marry.

On the 1891 census Brian Lawsons Index , found Catherine in Ramsey aged 40 with son (?) George aged 8 , although Piece/Folio/Schedule different , maybe error ?

Cath 4685 72 92
Geo 4685 92 73 ( transposed ??)

1901 Catherine aged 50 is at Lezayre , no sign of George, could not find George dying or marrying on the IOM
