Re: Thoma Corkill and Elizabeth Lewin

the newspapers require a subscription but available from www.imuseum.im - might be worth a short sub but they are only 1 line entries - the burial for Thomas corresponds to an entry in Brian Lawsons bur reg index but he has age 15 rather than the 57 in paper - I might check tomorrow in Museum but there was only 1 burial as a list of names of those buried was also included in papers presented at convocations where presentments landed up and I photo'd all these! but they give no other info than name whereas the burial reg should have more - there might be a MI as buried in Braddan old yard
Re wills - summaries on MNB - the actual will can be found on mormon microfilms (see index in BL's microsite within www.iomfhs.im which includes the film number - the film no.s at Manx museum are not those used at LDS fam hist centres

there are a couple of deeds I've summarised since posting the cd that may be revelant - the most likely one is a Wm Corkill labourer of douglas buying a small plot of land around what is today's Strand street (sandside in those days) in 1742 - also I suspect that Thomas Corkill's jounery shop might be underneath the old methodist sunday school - look at my chapels page - dates fit (btw there is a single advert 1807 of Thos Corkill joiner + cabinet maker offering herring for sale! but gives no address other than Douglas
