imuseum

Hi Peter,

I was sorry to see your warning "Beware the freebees on the imuseum, they are incomplete part batches.
They are from a number of different sources such as Brian, various I.G.I.and BMD all mixed alphabetically and thus repeat errors etc".

I had been under the impression that all the parish register entries had been re-indexed and transcribed before being added to the new website?

I did ask Paul Weatherall on this board whether the census indexes had been re-indexed, or are they using the FHS ones, and he replied that they are the FHS ones (where the original 1851 index and transcript are particularly bad - I just hope they are using Brian's index instead).
Paul wrote that they hope to re-index once 1911 is complete.

It would be good to know which is which in the currently available information in the free search. I'm pretty sure they said that indexes would be free, but scans of documents would be charged for. This would be similar to wills on ScotlandsPeople where the indexes/summaries are free, but scans paid for, and the NA and NAS are the same (except NAS docs are posted).
