Hallo Frances - have you by any chance come across (yet) another Corkill with a son John, i.e. other than Thomas of Malew (m Hannah 1770) and John of Maughold (m Margaret 1769), whose will/estate would be in the process of being sorted out at around this time and which would match up with the beneficiary of such receiving a letter advising of his inheritance in 1828 (NB he could have taken some finding as he was off island)?
