This coulkd be an early example of a sale and resale. Phill Moore sounds like one of the Baldromma or Ballameanagh families, i.e. a major lanholder of the parish and someone who might be entrusted with buying and reselling the farm to divert it away from the rightful heir. I haven't heard of it being done this early but it is just possible.Usually if the heir had anything about them they would be suing the new owner as soon as the original owner was dead. The most famoius example is the Heywoods of The Nunnery.
