Re: Descendants of Thomas Fargher and Isabella Cra

Hi Sue
Thanks for your message and information about Isabella Fargher and the Craines. Where did I find Isabella Christian Faragher? I searched the LDS site (www.familysearch.org/search/records/index), Isle of Man Parish Registers 1598-1950. I searched under Isabella Craine, probably for "all events", probably for the year 1822 ( my version of the family tree has an Isabella b. 1822) and for the place Lezayre (where the sons of Thos Fargher and Isabella Craine were born).
I found:
spouse: Thos Fargher
child: Isabella Christian
name: Isabella Christian
event: Christening
event date: 17 Jan 1822
event place: Lezayre. lsle of Man
gender: Female
father: Thos Fargher
mother: Isabella Craine
digital folder number: 004493705

These are the same parents recorded elsewhere for Daniel, Robert, Thomas and William Curphey Fargher. My original research in the IOM library in 1980, found Isabella born 17/1/1822, but I can't remember how I found that.

You said the closest record you could find for Isabella was marriage with Daniel Craine 16 February 1847 in Lezayre. I believe that's Isabella Christian Fargher, daughter of Thomas Fargher and Isabella Craine. That's certainly what's on our Australian version of the tree that someone researched before 1994. Isabella Christian Fargher's mother was Isabella Craine so perhaps the Christian Craine you found was Isabella Craine's mother. From the link you sent me to wills I found a Christian Craine woman's will of 1770 and Cath Craine als Christian will of 1680, so Christian was a family name and given name in the Craine family.

OK, that's more than enough.
Thanks
John Faragher
