Hi all

I have recently acquired the 1850 will of Matthias Bridson of Cordeman, Malew
Almost finished transcribing!

As well as his wife Margaret and children William, Robert, Matthias, Elizabeth, Ann, Isabella and Sophia,
he makes bequests to grandchildren Matthew Matthias Bridson and Margaret Christian.

IGI has Matthew Matthias chr 28 Sept 1843 at St Barnabus, Douglas to Matthias Bridson and Margaret Clarke
1851 has a Matthew Bridson 7, cousin at Cordamen with Sophia Bridson as Head (his aunt?)
Had his parents died at this point?
There is an 1852 burial in Onchan for Matthias Bridson aged 31 which would fit, as 1841 census has him living with Robert (his brother?) as a baker.

IGI has Margaret Christian chr 14 Aug 1842 St Matthews, Douglas to William Christian and Christiana Bridson,
who also had Wm Bridson Christian in 1844
1851 also appears to have Margaret at Cordemon with Sophia

Why were only 2 grandchildren mentioned in the will, they don't appear to be the eldest?
Was it because they had lost parents ?mothers?

One family tree has the Christian line going to California, and Christiana is not mentioned in her fathers will

Is there an MI for Matthias Bridson 1850 possibly St Marks, no record on Brian's index but probate May 1850
Margaret Bridson w/o Matthias 1853 again not on the index
?? Christiana Christian nee Bridson
Daughter Letitia died 1849 buried St Marks apparently
