Col, I looked at Ancestry trees in case someone had details of your Alfred Mylchreest. There's a tree (compiled by someone who probably hoovers up other people's information and puts it in his own tree---it has 57,000 individuals !) which has some information which looks as though whoever supplied it had close family connections to this Alfred Mylchreest's family. But I don't know if it's your particular Alfred.

So, for what it's worth, it has a marriage in 1919 in Malew Parish Church between Alfred Mylchreest (no birth year or parents' names offered) and Ann Kelly (b 1891 Ballasalla, daughter of James Kelly 1862-1931 and Jane Costain 1866-1938). Ann died 1954 Castletown. Alfred died 1974, but it states Douglas. However, Brian Lawson's burial index has only this one:
