There was some discussion of the Moughtins on this board in 2005 (11 Nov) by a Susan Moughtin who was researching this line and some later Moughtins. You might be able to unearth the notes in the archives of this genealogy
I have some of the info in my database as I'm interested in Cain(e)s--John Moughtin md Eleanor Caine in 1832 Braddan. I hopefully have Eleanor's lineage--her age fluctuates widely in the censuses--so who knows!
According to the above John Moughtin was ch 20 Aug 1815 Ballaugh s/o Thomas Moughtin and Jane Kneen who md 7 Jan 1807 Jurby.
However, there are other notes I have in my database that suggest other parents as John's ages in census records tend to vary widely:
