Hi Donna, thanks for your reply. I made an error in dates on the last post. I am, in fact, back to 1740 with Daniel Caine who married Isabel Bridson b 1745. They were my 5X grandparents Here I am stuck. Any help gratefully accepted. A while ago when I was researching I did come across an IOM marriage between a male Caine and a female who's name I have forgotten. However, I did look at the origins of it at the time and it was African. Being white I dismissed it, it is only lately that I began to wonder. Much to my annoyance, I can't find the marriage details again.
