Re: Quine research
In Response To: Re: Quine research ()

Good grief - you miss a day and a mountain of information apperars on the BB
As per Joan:-
William Quine (junior) born before 1752 d 1804
married 16 Feb 1768 to Margaret Halsall
children
William baptised 23 Jul 1780 (d 1814? possibly married Esther Martin?)
John b 18 Aug 1782
Philip b 21 Nov 1784 [possibly married Ann Shimmin]
Robert b 29 Apr 1787 (not mentioned in fathers will)
Daniel Quine baptised 19 Sep 1790 (not mentioned in fathers will)
Thomas
Christian Quine b 08 Nov 1772 married James Kennaugh
Ann Quine b 18 May 1777

Unfortunately I don't have any more on this family - until I realised that William and Margaret's daughter Christian married James Kennaugh I wasn't too interested in that side - but then I discovered that Christian Kennaugh is an ancestor of my husband so suddenly it becomes of interest.

I would like to get further back on the Quine's and although I understand there was no marriage contract for Christian [wife of William Shimmin] there was a settlement [SSS O1801-3] regarding a parcel of land known as Croit E Willen situate in the parish of Kk German, bearing the annual Chief rents of fourpence, part of the Quarterland of Ballaleece. Adjoins the rent of Duke of Athol on the south east, Wm Quilliam & Mrs Tear south west, Thomas Mylechreest on the north. This was to come to Christian on the death of her father. But quite where it was I have not been able to ascertain as yet.

Thank you again for all the information given
