let's assume for argument that the Bible does indeed exist, is found and gives born IoM - is there another contender ?
there is an interesting patron submitted entry (usually I ignore these) for an illegitimate Patrk born to a Jony Quine in Patrick who the submitter names Patrick - now I'm fairly confident I didn't see such an entry in Patk Register for 1738 (or any other year) but there are two entries in the Presentments for s_exual misdemeanors for both a Patk Cain and Jony Quine named (I will try to look at entries to see if actually linked)with Jony also found in 1740 Malew presentments as having a child born 2 years ago and a 1738 entry noted that Patrick is now of Ballaugh.
If Patrick was originally of Kk Patrick then as the regs only start 1714 he would be missed when looking for Patk senr born 1712 but he might well be a person wanting to emigrate and take a child with him - I don't seem to have any record of name of Jony Quine's child - no obvious baptism - the emigration to USA might well have been via Ireland. It might be worth seeing if this is worth more checking
