William Lewney 1744-1817 was my 4xgt grandfather and William 1775-1858 my 3x Gt Grandfather; your Jane Lewney was d/o the latter, so that makes me her 2nd great grand-nephew - I think! --- I have not done a lot on Jane, only to note that she married John Cowley in Liverpool and had children Ann 1826, Betsey 1829, Jane ? 1831, Henry? /John? 1837/8??. Her husband died 1851-61 and by 1861 she had returned to the IoM, living with her sister Cath and mother Elizabeth. By 1871 she was back in Liverpool with her married daughter Betsey Wilson and family; she died in 1873. I would be most interested in your family connections to her.
I have extended the genealogy back a few generations with the Lewneys, and also my other Lawson ancestors.
