John, you are missing the point. You need a second index for the entries you are adding, which have different sources to his 1821-1900/01 index, and fall outside the explanatory notes he wrote.

It is also not up to you to change someone else's work unless you find an error in the same source he was using - the actual registers. The official indexes may be wrong. The thought is terrifying - that you would alter his work from an inferior source.
