Re: ADAM CAINE
In Response To: ADAM CAINE ()

"We have;
1. Patrick Cain/e Jr. born June 23, 1737 in KK MICHAEL Isle of Man,(baptismal date)

You have;
YOUR RECORD DOES NOT EVEN SHOW THIS CHILD OF PATRICK AND ELINOR CLARKE. "

There is no such record to show
the entry you assume is your Patrick has no mother's name - the entry in the parish registers (have you looked at these ?) reads
in Michael register "four towns" in Ballaugh register for same day "Patk Cain of Kk Michael" - the assumption is that the child was baptised in Ballaugh but his parents also wanted him noted in Michael register
I believe this was the child of Pat Cain + Alice [Cain] - four towns is another name for orrisdal (which is nearer Ballaugh than Michael parish church)
see www.manxnotebook.com/gazateer/ml_oryd.htm for reasons

For Jony

I have Patrick would appear to have first married Eleanor Clarke m Bal 17370211 - the children of this marriage include:

Joney Bal 17400917 - she married Wm Kelly Bal 17650216 and
Alice Bal 17460902 - noted as in scondle gill; she would appear to have married Wm Bridson

Bal = Ballaugh
This is well covered in www.manxnotebook.com/famhist/families/acaine.htm and later wills etc explain my reasoning

As I have said many times the will of Ann Cain nee Corlet is that of the widow of John Cain(miller) who died early - the family is at Ballacurleod (later known as Ballacorlett) which is just north of Barregarroo in Kk Michael
