Re: Robert & Elizabeth Goldsmith

Further to my previous message I see that Elizabeth 54 Plain Sewer of 5, Whitemill Street, Liverpool, was a widow in the 1861 census. Living with daughter Elizabeth 26 Servant, and BOTH born Isle of Man Douglas - although the daughter's entry was "Do" [ditto] and may not be correct.

The only entries in the IGI are member submitted ones, with two 1834 bapt/birth (parents Robert Goldsmith & Eliz Kneale) - one for Liverpool and one for 20 Aug.1834 "St Matt, Douglas". Neither of them look as though they have come from the parish register, however Frances confirmed that the St Mathew's one is correct.

There is a registered birth for an Elizabeth Goldsmith in Liverpool Year of Registration: 1838, Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun, Volume No:20, Page No:257.

Robert & Eliz's marriage: 22 OCT 1833 Braddan is an extracted entry (from parish register).

You wrote that Robert was also born in Douglas IOM? What record did you see which had that info., and were there any other details?
