Not wanting to muddy the water too much, but on the marriage certificate of JH it said that his dad was deceased. There could of been a falling out between son and dad, son put down on his marriage certificate as his dad being deceased. Just a thought as I have come up against this sort of obstacle during my family history research, looking for a death before the marriage took place (because the bride put down deceased for her dad) only to find out that her dad had died at a later date.
