Thank you, Mary. I am grasping at straws more or less. I had previously looked for information on surname Leslie/Laslie because of an old letter that insisted our Leslie line came from the Isle of Man. I was assured that Leslie was not a Manx surname but the list did turn up a few random Leslie burials, etc. Our John Leslie was born in 1816 in North Carolina, USA. He named his oldest son Alexander Madison Leslie, according to another old letter that has surfaced, and this same letter also states John Leslie's family came from the Isle of Man. I am wondering if there might be a marriage or church records linking Madison and Leslie/Laslie. Any suggestions where I might look next? Thanks! Evelyn S. Leslie
