Re: Margaret Ann JOUGHIN
In Response To: Margaret Ann JOUGHIN ()

Hi Sue,

It looks like we will have to start again, all my responses were to the BB directly and I have no messages in my sent items.
I do remember you asking about robert bruce being named as the father of james edward in the presentments.I am sorry I misled you here.
I did find a reference to an anne cowley giving birth to a son that she named james edward. This was in the right year, there was no mention of a fathers name!
I also have a copy of a presentment from andreas 1843 (james birth year) stating anne cowley (already affiliate) I think that is the wording!!
On the same presentment doc there is a mary cowley on her second .Maybe a sister.
I have done a lot of research over a very long time, but have never really been able to 100% identify anne or even find out her fate.
I am quite sure that the robert buried in bride and who married ann christian and margaret ann joughin is my GG Gfather.
I have been told by a descendant of james edwards first marrage to annie hill that james had been contacted by his father about inheriting
but as he was now living in fremantle western australia he had no interest in going back.My cousen spoke to this person over 30 years ago before she passed away
and shared the information with me.She to has been researching us bruces for years (there are hundreds of us all descended from robert/james) and we still cannot solve the ann cowley conundrum
I think one of your previous questions was where was james listed as being born.
I think on his death certificate it said Ramsey, i can confirm this, but will need to locate the paperwork later .We have moved home recently and everything is boxed up.
I keep at this because i would like to find out more about robert bruce than just his date of birth and death and the joughins are the last
direct line to him.
I do realise that I am not related by blood to them but there may be something out there of interest.

Cheers
Ray Bruce
