Just a quick follow up to David's earlier posting. The early results show that
a. certain families under one name do show a common Y-DNa profile (as one would expect and hope)
b. There are examples of non-paternal event results - where non-family matching Y-DNA profiles are found within a family - and in a couple of cases these non-paternal genetic incursions can be matched up to other Manx families!?
c. So far .... and its comparatively early days! .. no two different family names have shown a common Y-DNA profile - and hence a common origin. These early results suggest, at this stage, that Kewley and Cowley are NOT connected for example.
