Marg, the only names listed on the summary pages are the heads of households, so wives, children, inmates etc wouldn't come up in a search.

This is what Ancestry says:

"The Summary Books provide an outline .......They tell you the name of the head of each household, plus how many people were recorded in that home. They also reveal the type of property your ancestors were living in (such as a house, flat or shop), provide a description of the enumerator’s route (often with a map), and offer statistics on the local population."
