If you haven't found a marriage for William Birch to Margaret Cole (and I can't find one, either) then did you get the surname Cole from the birth certificate of one of her children ? Is the name easy to read, or might there be scope for a misreading, perhaps of Coole ? Have you got birth certs for any other of her children, or are you relying on just one ?
