I started genealogy this year just thinking it would be tracing ancestors but now I find it interesting learning about such things as the rope works & mineral water works etc that my family worked in. I expect the lads would travel by horse /cart rather than on foot for that distance, Cas to Marown. The last iomfhs newletter was interesting to read about the shoemakers/cobblers - they had plenty of work. K
