Written 1 Jun 1791 probate 13 Jul 1791. Will would have been null and void if John hadn't died in "5 weeks to 6 weeks"
Eldest son William was executor and primary heir.
Order of will:
*John feather bed, bedding, cow
*Grandson John Maxwell 7 lbs (father Thomas Maxwell)
Apparently Thomas Maxwell owed John money to keep son John for 10 yrs, more things to John but grandpa didn't forget the debt owed him!
*Stepson Patrick Gell britches, coat, sheep, lamb
*Stepdaughter Catherine Gell mo's chest, apparel, sheep, lamb, heiffer in calf, heiffer with white face
*Daughter Christian Grimshaw (John) speckled heiffer
*Niece Ann Garrett 10 shillings (married Matthew Corlett)

John Caine Episc Will KM Film #0106402:
The last will and testament of John Caine of the parish of KK Michael
made uttered and declared on the first day of June 1791 and committed to
writing at the said time. He was weak in body but of sound mind and
memory at the making hereof in the following manner.
First He committed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial.
Secondly He left and bequeathed unto his son John Caine, Junior, a
feather bed and bedding together with a cow.
Thirdly I leave and bequeath unto my grandson John Maxwell the sum of
seven pounds that Thomas Maxwell his father owes me for the keeping and
maintenance of his said son for the term and space of ten years as may
fully appear by an agreement in writing betwixt the said Thos Maxwell and
I concerning the same. I also leave unto the said John Maxwell the
further sum of three pounds British which I promised to pay unto the said
John Maxwell when his mother died and his father Thos Maxwell agreed with
me at said time to give to his said son five pounds British. I also
leave unto the said John Maxwell the further sum of five pounds British
to be paid unto him by my executor herein after mentioned. I also leave
unto the said John Maxwell a coat and a pair of breeches of the blue
cloth that is in the house together with a sheep and lamb.
Fourthly I leave and bequeath unto my stepson Patrick Gell a coat and a
pairiof breeches of the said blue cloth together with a sheep and lamb.
Fifthly I leave and bequeath unto my stepdaughter Cathrine Gell her
mother's chest together with her mother's shaped apparel also a sheep and
lamb together with a heiffer in calf vizt a black heiffer with a white
face which said heifffer to be given unto her against Hallantide next.
Sixthly I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Christian Grimshaw a
speckled heiffer.
Seventhly I leave and bequeath unto my niece Ann Garret the sum of ten
shillings.
Eighthly I leave and bequeath unto the poor of the parish of KK Michael
the sum of twenty pounds to be paid by my executor against May 1792 and
the said sum to be vested in the hands of the Vicar and Wardens to be
laid out at interests for ever for the benefit of the poor of said parish.
Tenthly(no Ninethly listed) I leave and bequeath unto the witnesses of
the will a shilling a piece together with a shilling a piece to each
claimer who may hereafter at any time endeavor to break through this will.
Lastly I nominate and appoint my eldest son William
Caine sole executor of all the rest of my goods chattels and effects
movable and immovable of what kind or denomination soever. And if I
shall not die within the space of five or six weeks after this date that
then this will is to be null and void and of none effect. I leave to my
man servant Thomas Kneale a sheep and lamb.

the payment of debts and legacies namely the witnesses of this will

John Maxwell having arrived at lawful years this day acknowledges to have
received from the hands of Wm Cain executor of the last will and
testament of John Caine dec'd the sum of three pounds British as also the
further sum of seven pounds which Thos Maxwell owed the said John Caine
dec'd on account of the maintenenace of him the said John Maxwell and he
hereby exonerates acquits and discharges the said William Cain the
executor of and his heirs executors administrators and assigns of the
same and every part thereof. The said John Maxwell also acknowledges to
have received the further sum of five pounds British bequeathed to him in
and by the foregoing and acquits the said executor thereof.

legatee named in the foregoing will acknowledged to have received from Wm
Cain the executor the chest the apparrel the sheep and lamb and the
heiffer bequeathed to his said wife and exonerates acquits and discharges
the said executor and every other persons of the same and every part
thereof. witness his mark affixed to his name the day and date above

Ann Garrett now wife of Matthew Corlett which Ann Garrett is a legatee in
the annexed will of John Cain acknowledges to have received from Wm Caine
the executor the sum of ten shillings bequeathed to her in said will and
exonerates acquits and discharges him and every other person of the same
and every part thereof. Witness her mark to her name this 22d Feb 1792

John Grimshaw husband of Christian Grimshaw a legatee named in the will
of John Caine dec'd hereby acknowledges to have received from Wm Cain the
executor therein named the heiffer left and bequeathed unto his said wife
in the said will and exonerates, acquits, and discharges the said Wm Cain
his executors administrators and assigns of the same as witness his name
and mark this 22d May 1800.

I John Cain son of John Cain of the Barnagh late dec'd do hereby
acknowledge to have received from my brother Wm Cain of the last will and
testatment of the said decedent, a feather bed and bedding and a cow
being the whole of a legacy left and bequeathed unto me in and by the
said will of my father and I exonerate acquit and discharge him the said
executor of the same and every part thereof. As witness my subscritpion
