Beecher: Have just looked at the census image again and I would say it definitely reads as Beecher. Trying to find him in 1871 an Edward Richd Callister turned up in the New Orphan House in Gloucestershire, aged 12, born IOM [RG10/2550 f.63 p.6]
For interest, there is an Ann Griggor, seaman's wife with small children, very close by to Margaret Skelly in Kirk Patrick St in 1861.
