the name Barr is usually associated with Peel from early 19th C - a Wm Barr is seen in 1814 'census' of Peel and a daughter is buried - however the only older Barr (James) in 1841 (age 47 in 1851c) is born Ireland and probably s/o of that Wm - I have some info on one member - see www.manxnotebook.com/families/greggor.htm but I suspect you will be lost in Irish records with the family moving to Peel between 1805 and 1815 - young children who might be born in Ireland but grew up in Peel would consider themselves Manx
