Unfortunately I have absolutely nothing on Magaret Shimmin other than her marriage at Malew in 1826 and the birth of a son Robert in IOM in 1827 . I was told the marriage registers would have little to offer so I haven't pursued them. Is this the case or was I naive?

I believe they ledt the island in 1827 and moved around the UK with the army. e was discharged in 1840 and they settled in Salford, which is where my family descend from.

If you have any info or suggestions I'd be grateful.
