Hi again Alexandra - In 1881 census Ann (nee Christian) was 41 fisherman's wife, Jane 15 was a farm labourer ( she was your John Herbert's mother) Mary Ann 11, Harvey 8, Catherine M 6, Annie 3. John (Ann's husband) must have been on vessels. Emma was unborn but in 1891 she was aged 8. Jessie(John Herbert's sister) could have died in 1894 aged 6 Rushen.
