Re: Kneales from Andreas
In Response To: Kneales from Andreas ()

Denise, I'm a bit concerned about the possible assumptions you are making here. Could you please add some sources to your information? Such as how you know that the father of Ann Kneale (born about 1830 Kirk Michael) is the illegitimate daughter of the John Kneale you have found in the 1841 census? You probably know that there was a variation in ages of up to 5 years (and sometimes more) in that census, so where does the "born about 1806" come from? And what ties this John Kneale to Ann? Was there a Presentment which named John Kneale of Andreas as the father? If so, please say what it said, and also what makes you think that it is his entry in the census? If you have relevant information from a census please post it rather than expecting people to look it up for themselves.

From what you have written, you can't possibly assume that the John Kneale burial you found was the man who was in the 1841 census, unless he was at the same address (and was there also in the other censuses?) - but you need to start first with Ann.

Thanks for adding more details.

Sue
