Re: Matthias Cain & Catherine Craine

Pam.
Let's try to keep the posts in the same thread.

I think we can assume now--based on records
that Robert Cain(e) and Ann in the 1881 census are
Robt md Ann Kennedy 19 Jun 1861 Braddan
Letitia Annie was born 22 Mar 1862 Douglas & per IGI ch 9 Dec 1862 St Thomas, Douglas
Mathias is in the English IGI born 19 Dec 1863 ch 6 Mar 1864 St Nicholas, Liverpool

The fact that the first boy was named Mathias certainly gives support to Matt/Cath being Robert's parents
First girl at least in part named for mo Ann
Sec girl Cath might be named for R's mother

I think we need to step back or at least I do and reexamine Robert's parentage.

There is an MI that might belong to this Robt & Ann
Douglas Borough
Book Three
Block P
#11
In memory of Robert CAIN who entered into rest 1st May 1915 aged 78 years
also of Ann widow of the above who entered into rest 16th December 1918 in her 82nd year
Also Catherine Ceres daughter of the above who died 26th Jan 1949 aged 84 years
Also Robert John son of above who died 26th July 1951 aged 79 years
The night is far spent the day is near

Cath in the above MI might be Robt/Ann's Cath
and Robert John above might be their son.

From Goodwin's Scraps we find that Letitia Annie md Walter John Price Liverpool
Goodwin's says Robert and Marg died in infancy

Goodwin talks about Edward Caine/Elizabeth Christian but doesn't connect Robt Liverpool baker to them, however Robt/Ann are the entry on the next page.

Hopefully, some of the wills will show something to help.
