Whereas Jane Kelly late Craine wife of Robert Kelly of Ballavitchal in the Parish of Marown died on or about the 27th August 1834 Intestate
We the undersigned children and sons in law of the said Jane Kelly deceased is willing and desirous to have our Father Robert Kelly sworn Administrator over the goods and affects of our said deceased mother and likewise agree with him for the same
Know all men therefore by these presents that we the children and sons in Law aforesaid do by these presents hereby give up and grant our respective shares, dividends, or proportions of all our said deceased mothers goods, moneys, notes, bonds, chattels, and effects, moveable or immoveable or shat kind or description whatsoever or wheresoever situate in lieu for the different sums hereto professed to our respective names namely, Thomas Kelly the sum of twenty pounds British, James Gelling husband of Elizabeth Kelly the sum of twenty pounds British, John Cannon husband of Jane Kelly the sum of twenty pounds British, John Quirk husband of Margaret Kelly the sum of twenty pounds British, Robert Kelly the sum of twenty pounds British, Ann Kelly the sum of fifty pounds British, and Catherine Kelly the sum of fifty pounds British and likewise our said father do hereby promise and agree to pay all our said deceased Mother’s just debts and funeral expenses in as full and complete a manner as if our said Mother had have settled the same by will and otherwise for our said Father’s whole use and benefits.

And furthermore, we do by these presents, fully and absolutely for ourselves and heirs executors, administrators, and assigns hereby release and forever quit claim and discharge unto our said father Robert Kelly his heirs, Executors, Admins, and assigns, all and singular our Right, title, Interest, benefit, claim and demand whatsoever of in and unto the said, goods, chattels, and effects, or any part or parcel thereof which we had rec’d which we, our Heirs, Exrs, Admins, or assigns shall or may have, claim challenge or demand for or by reason of our said Mother dying Intestate by or in respect of this present agreement Witness whereof we have hereunto subscribed our names this ninth day of Septr 1834

At Douglas 14 Mar 1834 Robert Cretney one of the witnesses to this execution of this foregoing instrument made oath on the Holy Evangelists that Thomas Kelly, James Gelling, John Cannan, John Quirk, Robert Kelly, Ann Kelly, Cathrine Kelly, and Robert Kelly Senr the executing parties thereto duly signed the same in presence of deponent and of William Duggan the other witness Before me

At a chapter court holden this 14th day of November 1834
Jane Kelly of the Parish of Kirk Marown having departed this life on or about the 31st day of August last past intestate and this court having received intelligence thereof, hath (for the preservation if the rights of all persons concerned) Decreed her husband Robert Kelly Administrator of all and singular the Goods, Rights, Credits, Chattels, and Effects, moveable and immoveable whatsoever of the said Decedent And he, the said Robert Kelly is thereupon sworn, well and truly to administer the same, to pay all the justs debts, so far forth as the Goods will extend and the Law bind and return unto the Episcopal Registry a full, true, and perfect Inventory thereof, and an accurate account of all transactions touching the same when thereunto lawfully required. And to these ends he hath given Pledges in Form of Law namely Thomas Kelly of Marown and James Gelling of Kirk Braddan.

John Cannon husband of Jane Kelly appeared at the Registry and acknowledges to have been paid the sum of twenty pounds British being his proportionate share of the goods ? of the estate of the within named Jane Kelly dec’d according to the agreement entered into by the parties interested and acknowledged before an High Bailiff and dated 14 November 1834 and hereby exonerates discharges and acquits Robert Kelly, the administrators, the executors and assigns of the same and of every part thereof as witness his subscription this 11th October 1841.

Thomas Kelly and Robert Kelly sons and James Gelling and John Quirk sons in law of the within named decedent Jane Kelly appeared at the Registry and acknowledge to have each been paid the sum of twenty pounds British being their proportions of the goods and Effects of the said Jane Kelly dec’d according to an agreement hereunto annexed dated 9 Sept 1834 and acknowledged before an High Bailiff 14 November 1834 and they hereby severally exonerate discharge and acquit Robt Kelly the administrator, his executors, administrators, and assigns of the same and of every part thereof as witness their subscriptions this eleventh October 1841.

Whereas Jane Kelly wife of Robert Kelly of Ballavitchal in the parish of Kk Marown departed this life on or about the 27th day of August 1834 Intestate and whereas the said Robert Kelly husband of the aforesaid Jane Kelly did immediately afterwards agree with his children for a certain sum in lieu of their respective shares of the goods bearing date the 9th day of September 1834 as will more fully appear. And whereas the sum of fifty pounds British was recorded for his daughter Ann for her share or proportion of her mother’s goods as aforesaid and whereas the said Ann has since Intermarried with William Quilliam of the Parish of Braddan. Know all men by these presents that I the said William Quilliam husband of the aforesaid Ann Kelly do hereby acknowledge to have received the said sum of fifty pounds British and a further sum of fifty pounds sterling from the said Robert Kelly my father in law as dowry with my said wife Ann Kelly making the whole the sum of one hundred pounds sterling and do hereby order and direct that the said legacy of fifty pounds British may be and stand cancelled upon record as witness my name this thirty first day of October 1849

Know all men by these presents that I the said Robert Cannall husband of the aforesaid Catharine Kelly do hereby acknowledge to have received the said sum of fifty pounds British and a further sum of fifty pounds sterlng from the said Robert Kelly my father in law as dowry with my said wife Catharine Kelly making in the whole the sum of one hundred pounds sterling and do hereby order and direct that the said legacy of fifty pounds British may be and stand cancelled upon record as witness my name this thirty first day of October 1849
