Re: Bremner family

In the 1841 census relationships were not given, nor indicated. I would need to see the scan to see whether the lines mean anything, or whether it was just the enumerator ticking off while counting totals. Y = yes. You need to read the top of the column.

They won't charge you a second time if you send the scans - once seen they archive them under your name, and you can return to look at them whenever you like.

The theory was not that William married a second time after Ann, but that he had married a first time before Ann, and had older children before having John.

The first two passenger entries I sent were under a different spelling.

If you don't have John's marriage record you can buy that online at: online.justice.vic.gov.au
Look under Registry of Births Deaths Marriages and then at "Historical Research".
[They will say "The Victorian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages home page has moved. Clic k here for the new Home page ..."
The new Home Page address is too complicated to post, so easier to just "clic k here"!] - Ignore the gaps, apparently clic k has been added to the unacceptable words for posting here.

The Vic Registry will send you the scan of the marriage entry very quickly after paying by credit card online, and this is the cheapest method of getting a copy.
