I found an old note, 1997, from
wanting to contact any descendants of william and elizabeth shimmin of this
region:william born st. johns, miner at age 19 years married elizabeth
caine aged 18 years. Elizabeth born patrick and buried patrick. they were
married may 4th 1861.
They had 10 children:- william henry; john thomas;
robert samuel; james; edward;sarah jane; annie; elizabeth; emily edith; and
joseph stanley.
William and James, together with their father William went to Ishpeming Nth America following the death of Elizabeth (aged 47).
William (jnr) and James stayed when William snr returned to Island. He
apparently re-married and descendants of the re-marriage live in Peel.

Does this make sense to anyone.
If so, who did Wm Sr remarry?
