Manx Genealogy

Re: M.I. Mark Christian please Donna?

Many thanks for your information Sue. I have spent the last few weeks on frustrating searches … trying to place Robert CHRISTIAN (1824) and verify his link to wife and child as named in Owen Christian’s tree outline.
I came across this Manx Genealogy thread a few days ago and have read through all the postings including the 2008 threads. The extra leads have been most helpful.

I was just looking over the 1851 Census record for Robert CHRISTIAN (b. ~1847 German) with Catherine BOYDE as head, when I received your messages.
It does appear to be one of the few options for Robert CHRISTIAN (b. ~1848). Looking at all of the information that has been posted it does seem to add up.

Yes … William CHRISTIAN (1822 – 1885) and Anne BOYDE (1821 – 1879) are my 3x G Grandparents.
They remained on the Isle of Man but three of their sons came to New Zealand (all settling in the Nelson area).
William CHRISTIAN (1845 – 1915), Robert (Robbie) CHRISTIAN (1847 – 1908) and Edward (Ned) CHRISTIAN (1853 – 1926).

Many thanks for all the additional information. Looking forward to going over these details.

Kind regards
Michele Gregg
