Looked at the births for a Joseph Shimmin 1886 and couldnt find one in the Isle of Man. On the 1881 Census there is a Joseph Shimmin aged 22 born Douglas Isle of Man living 15 Pyramid Street Everton, occupation Ships Bread Maker, wife Jessie also 22 born Bethesda, Caernarvon, Wales and daughter Mary Jane aged 2 born Liverpool. On FreeBMD there is a birth of a Joseph John Shimmin December quarter 1885 West Derby and Joseph Frederick Shimmin Dec quarter 1886 Toxteth Park.
