Thank you for this additional info. Either Len or yourself had given me Catherine's marriage to Gell previously and as she was widowed soon afterwards, I was hoping for a later marriage to Quilliam to show up. If she was showing as 'Gell' in 1841, then that pretty well answers the question. I wondered why her son William was shown as 'son of' John Q and not 'illeg son' though, as Joseph was. Just an omission from the parish birth records I guess.
I will now have a look at that 1841census to see what I can make of it.
The end of your posting was chopped-off. Was it possible for a child to be listed at more than one address.
