Manx Genealogy

Corkill/Qualtrough/Christian

Hi,

Just in case there's anyone new to the message board who might not have seen my earlier requests - am looking for anything that can help me identify a John Corkill / Corkell / Corkhill / Kalkill who married in Penzance in Cornwall in 1802 (age unknown, probably 20s-30s?) but is thought to have come from the IOM. He was very much of the sea - a mariner, fisherman, etc.

There may be a connection with the Corkill family of Malew

Thomas Corkill b.1712
married Isobel Bridson
they had 3 children Elizabeth, Thomas (1747) and Anne

the son Thomas Corkill(1747)
married Hannah Christian
and they had 5 children, Thomas, John(1773), James, Isabel (m.John Bell),Margaret (m.William Qualtrough)

If any of these names (including the spouses) means anything to anyone, or you think you could help in any way, however small, please let me know!

Many thanks
Alison
