I think we just need to concern ourselves with numbers 1,2 and 4 above. entries 2 and 4 could I think refer to the same person with the christening on the 6th Oct being a late babtism. The abt birth for 1766 is not from the parish registers but from a `sealing` for the dead in the Morman church and this information has been submitted. It would be useful therefore to actually see the Marriage entry for William Quayle and Catherine Cubbon in the Braddan Marriage registers. I suspect that it may say that Catherine was member of the Parish and that William was from the Parish of Marown. This could explain why they were keen for their children Philip and Catherine to be babtised in both Churches.
However I can see why you opt for the Catherine born in 1764 as being your ancestor if her age in the 1851 census is correct plus the possible Brew connection. I assume that the census you refer to is for the Parish of Marown. Is this correct and what is the age of Catherine Quayle Brew in this census? We could do with finding a death and possible MI for Catherine Quayle nee Cubbon and it might be worth checking for her and possibly William in the 1841 census.
I need to do a lot of work on my Quayle line and really I find it best to do the research on the Island. I might find time this summer but I can`t be certain. I see on Brian Lawson`s site, in the Will index there is a will for a Catherine Quayle of Malew parish dated 1861 Ref A39 film Nos:- 0106263.
Look forward to your comments on the above.
